Eligibility

Am I eligible if I’m currently employed?

If you are currently employed as a full-time W-2 software developer or product manager, you are not eligible for the Fellowship.

If you are employed in any other role you are eligible for the Fellowship.

No. Only graduates from the classes of 2024, 2025, and 2026 are eligible for the pega6 Fellowship.

Am I eligible if I graduated college prior to 2024?

Do i need to have a computer science degree or previous software development/coding experience?

No. While you may find those skills and experiences helpful, they are not required.

Are there any other eligibility requirements?

You can see general eligibility requirements here.

Finances

Is the pega6 Fellowship really tuition-free?

Yes.

What is the “Commitment Deposit”?

The pega6 Fellowship will be the most valuable and rewarding educational experience of your life, but it won’t be easy (nothing worthwhile ever is). The program takes hard work, dedication, and grit, and we want to ensure that you see the Fellowship all the way through to the end.

To incentivize you to stick with the program, Fellows submit a $4,000 “Commitment Deposit“ in August that is fully refunded as long as you don’t withdraw from pega6.

Am I responsible for my own living expenses?

Yes, you are responsible for food, housing, transportation, and any other items you need while living in Boulder, CO for the year of the Fellowship.

Does pega6 provide food, housing, and transportation?

Pega6 not only serves as a bridge from college to career, but also from college to adulthood. So, we do not have dorms, food courts, shuttles, or any college-like amenities. Thus, you are responsible for procuring your own housing transportation, etc. However, we can provide guidance if needed.

Will I need to purchase any supplies?

It depends. You will need a MacBook Pro during your time in the pega6 Fellowship. There are three options:

  1. Bring your own. If you have a MacBook Pro 2022 or later with at least 16GB of RAM/memory and 500GB of storage, you can use it for everything you’ll need to do at pega6.

  2. Buy one. If you wish, you can buy your own MacBook Pro as long as it has at least 16GB of RAM/memory and 500GB of storage.

  3. Use ours. If you prefer, you can use a pega6 MacBook Pro throughout the Fellowship and then return it to us once you graduate.

Can I work another job while in the Fellowship program?

No. Pega6 requires full-time commitment as you will be working 50 hours/week on average.

Logistics

When does the program begin?

September 2026. We will set a specific opening day as we get closer to launch.

How frequently do you launch a pega6 Fellowship cohort?

Every six months.

Do I need to move to Boulder for the entire year-long program?

Yes. You will be building software with your team in person every other day throughout the year. So, you must be no more than 45 minutes from Boulder.

What will I be doing on the days I’m not working with my team in person?

You will be working remotely with your team continuing to build software, just as you would at any remote or hybrid job.

What’s the application process?

See the Fellowship application for details around the process. Please note that each stage involves it’s own approval to advance in the process. So, not all applicants will make it through each stage.

Am I technically a pega6 employee?

No. Although the learning environment is structured to replicate the experience of year one at your first job, you are a pega6 student/Fellow.

Yes. While our employer-partners have guaranteed that they will hire pega6 graduates, there is no requirement that you work for one of them.

When I graduate, am I allowed to accept a job offer from a company that is not a pega6 partner?

What is the relationship between pega6 and the pega6 Fellowship Program?

Pega6 (www.pega6.com) offers two programs designed to transform students into AI-first Product Builders and place them with employers hungry for their talents.

The pega6 Fellowship Program focuses on recent college grads, while the other pega6 program targets graduating high school seniors as an alternative to college.
